满洲里电视台作为市委直属副处级公益一类事业单位的内设部门，承担着重要的新闻宣传任务。其节目内容丰富多样，设有《满洲里新闻》等栏目，及时准确地宣传党的路线方针政策，围绕市委、市政府的中心工作做好宣传报道。同时，为满足边境城市的特色需求，还开设了《俄语新闻》栏目，每周首播两期，向俄罗斯受众传播满洲里市的时政、经济、口岸等信息。
